Inktober is a drawing challenge, started by Jake Parker, in which you create an ink drawing and post it online for every day of October. I decided to take up the challenge this year and see how far I got, and I posted my inktober illustrations on my Instagram as I did them. By the end of the month, I had achieved just a couple of drawings shy of a ‘half marathon’ – fourteen drawings in fourteen days. I absolutely loved having to discipline myself to draw every day and I found using the official prompts really useful. The hardest thing for me was to actually share my drawings with the internet. I’m not the kind of person to broadcast myself online (I think only a handful of friends and family actually know I post in this blog!) so posting regularly was a real challenge, and something I am continuing to work on! Overall I’m proud of my ‘half-marathon’ and hopefully next year I will make it the whole way through Inktober!
